Every loop in the Wyndham-Carseland Provincial Park campground is close to the Bow River, where you can fish, canoe, kayak or explore the nature trail along the shore. There are nearly 200 unserviced sites for tents and RVs, with shade and privacy provided by the generous growth of trees and shrubs. If you prefer sleeping on a bed, a comfort camping area has four tents on wooden platforms. You’ll need to bring your bedding and kitchen gear, but the tents contain electric heaters, fans, lights, and electrical outlets. Each one has a private deck and fire pit. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including timber wolves, beavers, moose, black bears, coyotes, mule deer, and grizzly bears. If fishing is high on your to-do list, the Bow River from the Carseland Weir to the Highway 24 bridge holds game fish, including brown and rainbow trout, northern pike, and Rocky Mountain whitefish. This scenic campground is 2 km (1 mi) east and 2 km (1 mi) south of Carseland on Highway 24.
