Aspen Crossing Dining Car Restaurant

The Aspen Crossing Dining Car has a long and colourful history. It was manufactured as a business car in 1887 in Chicago and is said to have been a meeting spot for gangsters. It came to Alberta in 1913 and served as Prime Minister John Diefenbaker’s rail car during “whistle-stop” campaigning. In more recent years, it was part of Edmonton’s Sidetrack Cafe. It’s the perfect accompaniment to the train-themed attraction near Mossleigh. It’s also the ideal spot to celebrate special occasions or to savour a memorable meal while visiting Aspen Crossing. It’s Sunday to Thursday for breakfast and lunch. On Fridays and Saturdays, it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Dining Car offers a stylish Sunday brunch, prime rib at Friday dinner and surf ’n’ turf on Saturdays. The regular menu features homemade soup, local beef, fish and pasta. Be sure to save room for dessert.
